You don’t have to work for SNHU Career to help students find employment opportunities.
With 85 percent of our students working on their degrees for career-related reasons, another way employees can contribute to student success is to reach out to employers in their networks to discuss the possibility of hiring SNHU students and graduates for jobs and internships.
Tell SNHU Career about interested employers via email at email@example.com (or use the paper forms available in the kitchens and from team members). Within two days, a career representative will reach out to talk about job opportunities and participating in virtual employer spotlights, career fairs or virtual interviews.
Since October, employee efforts have resulted in 15 referred employers and 30 jobs and an internship posting online at SNHU Recruit.
“We all have contacts in the community, both near and far. Please send us names and contacts of people you know who would want to hire SNHU students and graduates,” SNHU Career Director Carrie Weikel- Delaplane said. “You can help our students meet and exceed their career goals with your connections.”
SNHU Career offers a series of webinars that cover a wide range of professional development topics for prospective students, current students and alumni. For example, the salary negotiation webinar takes students through the salary negotiation process in the public and private sectors. This webinar provides students with insights into their negotiating power and ways to consider all compensation aspects of a job offer.
“Our webinars provide students with resources and a venue to ask questions and obtain support, and they engender a sense of community amongst participants,” Director Carrie Weikel-Delaplane said.
Student satisfaction on the webinar series is at 98 percent and student feedback has been positive.
