A father of two daughters who lives in North Oxford, Mass., Kevin Wheeler is earning his Associate of Science in Computer Information Technology online. He plans to continue his education at SNHU with a major in Web Design and Development. An employee in the IT department of a community bank, he also sings in his church choir and maintains the website for his 9-year-old’s softball league.
Why did you choose to pursue an IT degree, and what will it help you accomplish?
I chose the IT program because computers have always been an interest of mine and it will help me to advance in my job.
What inspires you to continue your studies?
My children and my fiancée are my inspirations to complete my degree. I want to show my children that it is never too late to learn and that keeping your grades up is also important.
What do you enjoy most about SNHU?
In my brief time at SNHU I have really enjoyed the online format where we can learn as much about each other as we learn about the subject of study. Unlike a physical classroom environment, people seem to share more experiences in the online format and that insight can really help to emphasize the lessons for the week.
